those of who know me work, will know that im very passionate abt information retrieval. My Project 3 ( late 2003) at IIT was to come out with a “alternate file explorer for windows” , i called it Viewport. ( i wish to write abt it in detail later in this blog)… at work im working out an interface for Enterprise level restore/retrieval systems…

my 3 recent craze has been TAGS, TWIKI,SOCIAL SOFTWARES. and tags are my favourate. there are amazing develeopments happening in this zone. wish to do my contribution some time….as of now..let me keep quoting from different sources atleast.

Everybody has immense trouble finding information in their hierarchal folders on their hard drive. Documents and digital objects have more than one meaning than the one folder/directory, in which they reside. Sure there are short cuts, but tracking down and maintaining shortcuts is insanely awkward. Tags will be the step to the next generation of personal information managment.
